If you have made it this far in exploring my page, it‘s purpose is fulfilled. I hope this helps you along your journey and when you begin to reflect on what hurts you. Don't forget. Inner healing starts with forgiving yourself.
I am not proud of who I was, but I'm happy with who I've become, and a flower has blossomed within me since I've been sober. I am stronger than I’ve ever been.
When I think back to when I drank alcohol my life was depressing and difficult. In 2022 I met Ben, he was just about a year sober, and on his journey to rediscovering his identity. He was the first man to ever treat me like a woman and that's when I knew my selfish behaviors needed to come to an end. So here I am, writing to you: it is possible! Have faith and know you can do it!
To fear or not to fear, that is the question. The choice is yours.
Quitting a bad habit can seem impossible, but once you start connecting to your best version. You've made it. I started journaling when I became conflicted with what I knew was wrong and right. I felt I could be 100% honest with myself and I didn't feel judged. Lately, when I get the urge to write in my leather journal, it's about how grateful I am to have the opportunity to live a better life.
Breathing is key. Inhale for 4 seconds and hold it. Exhale and let it go. Feel your stomach and chest rise. I know sitting there with your eyes shut can be tough, especially if you are a beginner because you think you are doing it wrong. If it helps, grab your phone and record yourself doing it. Once you pretend to act on it, you'll eventually realize you are doing it. I started practicing meditation after I read "Ayurveda: The Science of Self-Healing" by Dr. V. Lad, an eye-opening book that changed my life. It used to belong to my grandmother. Also, "Ayurveda" helped me develop a Tri-Dosha personality, which promotes human happiness, health, and creative growth.
First things first, I have successful days when I'm in a routine with exercising. Wake up, drink water, pray, sauna, stretch, and workout. Repeat.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
Xoxo,
Risa
